Officer sacked for ‘ass’ jibe

AN immigration officer has been sacked after calling North African detainees “donkeys”.

The unnamed man, from the Lindholme removal centre near Doncaster, also made “full animal sounds”, claimed a Home Office report.

Detainees were told “donkeys go back to your country” and “keep the crime in your country”.

Lin Homer, chief executive for the Borders & Immigration Agency, said: “Removing people from the UK, when they have no legal right to be here, is about fairness.

“It’s important to treat those being detained with courtesy and dignity.”
